Following a world-shattering war three hundred years ago, the tenuous peace between the Fire and Ice Dominions has been slowly fracturing. After a Fire Dominion attack fifteen years ago that led to the death of Sage’s parents, tensions have never been higher. So, when she’s tasked by the queen of the Ice Dominion to go to Earth and kidnap Aiden, the descendent of a noble Ice Dominion family, she has no problem with it. After all, this descendent is the only one who can wield the weapon that ended the war three centuries ago — and Sage will do whatever it takes to prevent a war from taking anyone else she loves.

Throughout their journey in the Ice Dominion, Sage and her friends-turned-family teach Aiden about their world and his magic. And Aiden teaches Sage that it’s okay to let others in.

Sage must learn there can be strength in weakness (as long as you can still beat the shit out of someone should the need arise) and Aiden must learn his place in this strange and magical world if they have any hope of their mission being a success.
