Meet the Author

Sophie Jay was born in NYC (a fact she is very proud of) and raised in the suburbs. She currently lives on the Upper West Side with her golden doodle Maple.

Sophie graduated with her BA in Political Science and French from the University of Pennsylvania and received her Master of Arts in International Affairs in May of 2023 from Columbia University. Writing a novel is not where she foresaw the implementation of this degree, but she’s finding that her knowledge in international politics, warfare, and persuasive writing has translated into an exciting new career field.

Sophie was diagnosed with lupus in 2019 and as her disease has developed, she has been forced to reconsider various dreams, goals, and opportunities.

She started to write as a form of creative expression, but writing this story has proved to be not only therapeutic, but also eye-opening, as she has found a new passion and career path she never knew possible.

When she’s not writing, Sophie is playing with her dog, drinking too much coffee, and reading.
